Meet the Artist
Sam Linders (1990) is often described as a fine artist, while also working as a material designer and researcher. Moving fluidly between artistic expression and material exploration.
After graduating from the Design Academy Eindhoven in 2015, she began exploring a wide range of materials.
Her practice includes leather, textiles, natural dyes, mycelium and clay.

Experimentation
Her approach is rooted in curiosity and experimentation. Rather than forcing a result, she lets the material guide the process. This creates work that feels pure, tactile, and authentic. She combines traditional crafts with technical processes and refines each piece by hand, allowing the material’s voice to remain visible.
In recent years, Sam has developed a deep passion for ceramics. Clay fascinates her with its honesty and unpredictability. “Every gesture leaves a trace, and the process is never fully predictable.” This tension between control and letting go defines much of her practice. Working with natural clay colors and firing techniques, she creates subtle variations, honoring the raw beauty of the material.
"Across all my work, one principle remains constant: the material always leads."
